How it works
Everything you need to rank on RankCrypto: how positions are calculated, how to pay, which addresses are valid, how long confirmation takes, and what you are agreeing to when you send funds. Read the warnings before sending anything.
1. How ranking works
Rank is bought, and it fades. Two rules produce every position on the board:
- Your bid is the USD value of what you paid. Each confirmed payment is converted to USD at the moment it confirms and that figure is stored permanently. A later crash or pump never rewrites it, and paying more adds to your total rather than replacing it.
- Your total decays 10% every 24 hours since your most recent confirmed payment. Decay is applied when the board is read, so your stored payments are never altered — paying again resets the clock and restores your full amount immediately.
Projects are ordered by that decayed figure, highest first. Because everyone decays, the top spot has to be defended rather than owned.
Two USD numbers appear around the site and they are not the same. The (~$…)hint beside a crypto amount is today's spot value of those coins, shown for convenience. The effective bid is what each payment was worth when it confirmed, minus decay — that is the only figure the ranking uses.
2. How to submit and pay to boost your rank
- Create your listing with your project name, URL and category. This costs nothing and does not put you on the board yet — your listing stays saved, so you can pay later and come back.
- Pick a chain and send any amount to the matching address below. There is no minimum: a small payment gets you a low rank, not a rejection.
- Paste your transaction hash back into the submit form. We query the chain ourselves — nothing you type about the amount, address or value is trusted or even accepted.
- Once it is confirmed and proven to have paid us, its USD value is credited and your position updates on the leaderboard immediately.
To climb higher later, repeat step 2 and 3 with a new payment. Every re-bid both adds to your total and resets your decay clock.
3. Which addresses are valid
These are the only addresses we accept, rendered straight from our server configuration. Use the copy button — the text is not editable, and the same values are what the verifier checks your transaction against.

- Bitcoin — we accept both native SegWit (
bc1q…, bech32) and Taproot (bc1p…, bech32m). Either one is fine; both are checked when you verify. - Ethereum — native ETH on mainnet only. ERC-20 tokens, L2s (Arbitrum, Base, Optimism…) and other EVM chains are not credited.
- Solana — native SOL on mainnet-beta only. SPL tokens are not credited.
4. Confirmations required
A payment is credited only once the network has buried it deep enough that it cannot be reorganised away:
| Chain | Minimum confirmations | Typical wait |
|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin | 1 | ~10 minutes per block |
| Ethereum | 6 | ~1–2 minutes |
| Solana | Confirmed slot | seconds |
Below the threshold, verification answers not confirmed yet rather than failing — your listing is already saved, so come back and verify the same hash a few minutes later. Nothing is credited and nothing is lost in the meantime.
Solana has no confirmation counter to set: our node only returns a transaction once it has reached a confirmed slot, so anything we can read is already confirmed. The Bitcoin and Ethereum thresholds are configuration, so they can be raised without a code change.
5. Before you send: irreversible by design
Crypto payments cannot be undone by us or by anyone else. Once a transaction confirms, it is final:
- Payments are non-refundable. There is no refund flow, no chargeback and no cancellation — not for a change of mind, not for a mistake, and not if your rank is later overtaken.
- Wrong address means lost funds. We cannot recover or credit a payment sent anywhere other than the addresses above.
- Wrong coin or wrong network means lost funds. Tokens, wrapped assets, L2 transfers and other chains are not credited and cannot be returned.
- Exchange withdrawals are your risk. Sending straight from a custodial account often means the transaction never appears on-chain in a verifiable form, and any refund an exchange attempts goes to an address we do not control.
Read this before you send anything
Only send to the address shown above. Sending from an exchange, sending the wrong coin, or sending to any other address will result in permanent loss of funds — we cannot recover or credit these.
- Use the Copy address button. Never type an address by hand and never trust one pasted to you by anyone, including someone claiming to be us.
- Withdraw from an exchange only if it lets you send to an external address you control first. Exchange-internal transfers never appear on-chain, so they can never be verified.
- One coin per address: BTC to the Bitcoin address, native ETH on Ethereum mainnet, native SOL on Solana. Tokens, wrapped assets and L2s are not credited.
6. How we stop fake and reused payments
Verification is entirely server-side and fails closed — if anything cannot be established with certainty, nothing is credited:
- Each transaction hash can be credited exactly once, ever. A hash already in our ledger is rejected outright, for your listing or anyone else's.
- The transaction must be proven to have paid one of the addresses above, and the amount is read from the chain — never from your browser.
- If our explorer or price feed cannot be reached, verification returns an error and records nothing. There is no partial credit and no guessed exchange rate.
- Verification attempts are rate-limited per IP, so hashes cannot be guessed at our addresses in bulk.
The payment history on every project page is drawn from that same ledger, so each row you see there is a confirmed on-chain payment — never a pending or claimed one.
Please read before paying
- Payments are non-refundable. Crypto transactions are irreversible; once sent, funds cannot be returned.
- This is a visibility / marketing board — you are paying for placement, not for a security, token, yield, or any financial return.
- Not an investment or financial productand not financial advice. A high rank implies nothing about a project's legitimacy.
- You are responsible for sending the correct amount to the correct address on the correct network. We are not liable for wallet mistakes, wrong-chain transfers, or funds sent to the wrong address.
- Ranks decay over time and can be overtaken by other projects at any moment.
